CHITTAGONG. Feb 1: Classes were not held but the administrative building were remained open at the Chittagong University (CU) today, the first day of the strike for an indefinite period.

Anti-Government Student Alliance (AGSA) led by Islam! Chhatra Shibir (ICS) enforced the strike on the campus.

The shuttle train or teachers' bus plied between the campus and the city and more than ninety per cent teachers and employees were present on the campus specially for drawing salary despite the strike.

Following a seventeen-day siege programme. AGSA launched a fresh strike programme for an indefinite period from today.

AGSA protesting the killing of two Shibir activists in a clash with Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCD on the campus on December 19 last year.

Their five-point demands include removal of the VC and Pro-VC of the university and arrest and trial of the killers of the Shibir activists.
