The Daily Janakantha. a Bangla newspaper, has awarded "Outstanding Personality and Genius Award 1999" to three distinguished personalities for their contribution to different fields, reports BSS

The winners are renowned educationist Sardar Fazlul Karim, novelist Mahmudu) Haq and freedom fighter Shahanara Parveen Shobna. currently a health worker at Banaripara in Barisal.

The two other winners each would get Tk 25.000 and a monthly allowance of Taka 5,000 and a gold medal along with a crest.

In the absence of the distinguished personal! les. their spouse would conL.iuc to receive Tk 3,000 every month. But If they do not have any earning children, they would get Taka 5,000 every month.

The awards would be handed over to the winners at a ceremony soon.
