MEXICO CITY. Nov 10: Brazilian veteran Bebeto said he planned to leave Mexican club Neza. accus-

ing directors of refusing to pay him and trying him to force him to play when injured, reports Reuters.

Bebeto. who played in the 1994 and 1998 World Cup for his country, told Reuters in an interview that for the last week he has been forced to train separately from his team-mates.

"Without doubt. I'm leaving in two weeks' time when the season ends." he said.

Tve got a two-year contract but there's no way I'm staying here that long. I hope that FIFA intervene to get me out of this, because I'm Tn excellent shape and there's no reason for me to train alone."

"He (Neza president Juan Antonio Hernandez) sent a letter to the Mexican Federation telling lies. He said I had to train apart because I'm a troublemaker, but fortunately my curriculum says otherwise and I'm known the world over."

Bebeto. 35. joined Neza. nicknamed Toros (the Bulls), in July for what has turned into a miserable experience. He has scored only one goal and missed several games through injury.

His team have the worst record in the championship, having won only three out of 15 games.

Tve had a bad time here, butI'm sure that if I had come to a big team like Toluca. America. Cruz Azul. Necaxa or Atlas. I would have been different because they're professionals. My bad luck here was with the management because my teammates have been excellent." Since then, he said the club had refused to pay him.

During Sunday's Mexican championship match against UNAM. Neza players wore tee- shirts under their strip with the slogan "Bebeto, we're with you." TTieir opponents wore tee-shirts with the slogan: "So are we."

Other teams have infuriated Neza directors by also wearing tee-shirts bearing messages of solidarity.

In August, club directors said they would stop paying midfielders Camilo Romero and Nicolas Ramirez as well as Argentine striker German Aran-gio because their performances had not been upto scratch.

Bebeto played 74 full internationals and scored 37 goals in an international career spanning 13 years. His last appearance was against France in last year's World Cup final.
