A 21-member Bangladesh team will leave the city for Kuala Lumpur on November 16 to take part in the 12th Asian Hockey Championship.

The 10-natlon meet was scheduled to be held in Pakistan but the venue was shifted because of the change of government there.

Bangladesh have been slated in Group B along with reigning champions South Korea. Pakistan. China and Sri Lanka.

The other group consists of India. Hong Kong. Kazakhstan, Japan and hosts Malaysia.

Bangladesh Hockey Federation is yet to receive the draw and the fixture of the championship.

Former national hockey star Hossain Imam Chowdhuiy Santa will coach the team while another former national player Kawsar All will act as his deputy. Sajed Adel has been named manager of the team.
