The country's environmentalists Joined their hands yesterday to hold an International Conference on Bangladesh Environment in mld-January.

The two-day international conference will begin -on January 14. 2000.

A high powered committee was formed comprising environment conscious non-gov-ernment organisations (NGO), Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). Coalition of Bangladesh Environmental NGOs (CEN). Bangladesh Environmental Network (BEN) and Porebesh Rokkha Sopoth (POROSH) as the main coordinating organisations along with other universities as associate members.

A meeting was held with Prof Zamilur Reza Chowdhury of BUET in the chair to make the ensuing environment.conference.
