Three persons, including the main accused in Sergeant Ahad ! Parvez murder case were ar-I rested by the Motljheel police i last night.

I Kangali Zakir, the main ac-I cused and two others, identified I as Faruk and Sanaullah. were I arrested from a garage at Agha Khan Road under Gulshan Police Station at about 8:30 pm. police said.

Zakir and his accomplices confessed their involvement in Ahad murder on the night of October 28. police said. They had taken refuge at the garage since the killing, police added.

According to police. Zakir also confessed his involvement in extortion in Dilkusha and Motijheel areas, where Ahad was on duty on that night.

Ahad confronted the gang members when they were roaming the area in two autorickshaws and an auto-tempo, police said quoting Zakir.

At one stage. Ahad jumped onto the auto tempo ana made a desperate attempt to arrest them. The gang members overpowered him and threw him out of the vehicle. He received injuries in his head and later died at the hospital, police added

Earlier, it was reported that the gang had struck him on his head with a machete and fled ihe scene in an autotempo.

Soon after the killing, police arrested two persons — Humayun Kabir and Mafizur Rahman. They were interrogated and later sent to Jail.
