Sources said smugglers in connivance with a section of dishonest railway officials load contraband in compartments of the inter-city trains, especially Padma Express and Jamuna Express.

They said train drivers make unscheduled halt at various points of the routes at the directive of the corrupt officials. enabling the bootleggers to unload their goods ’ll causes unwanted delay in reaching our destinations." said a passenger.

Besides, passengers have to face trouble in moving from one compartment to another for occupation of open spaces with smuggled goods.

Moreover, the shuttle trains, having only 5-6 bogies, are always found overcrowded with small traders and ticket -less passengers who carry goods causing sufferings to the general passengers.
