SINGAPORE. Oct 9 (AP): If the pressure is on Mark Philippoussis, he’s not showing it. In fact, the towering Australian with the deadly serve says he couldn’t care less what people think about his game.

And that includes Australia's Davis Cup coach Tony Roche and captain John Newcombe.

The two recently indicated that they'd be watching Philippoussis' performance at the Heineken Open in Singapore this week to decide whether he would be included in the squad for the December final against France.

"I'm here playing for me. no one else," Philippoussis said Saturday. "I couldn't really care less if they Judge me, I'm here playing for myself."

It will be Philippoussis's first tournament since losing in the second round of the RAC Championship in Indianapolis in August, and while he says he s back to top form, he does admit to butterflies.

"I'm sure I’ll be a' bit nervous once I get out on the court. My injuries are fine. I've been training extremely hard in Florida with my coach. Gavin Hopper. I have no complaints," he said. Tm feeling great on the court, hitting the ball well."

He refused to be drawn on the possibility of being excluded from Australia's Davis Cup squad.

"At the. moment I'm here in omgapore. This is what l tn concentrating on at the moment and after this is another tournament. When the time arrives and we talk about it and if 1 play that's what I'll concentrate on." he said.
