The office-bearers and members of the newly-formed convening committee of Pirojpur district unit of Bangladesh Awami League called on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at ner office yesterday evening, reports BSS.

Led by convenor of the committee Chandl Charan Paul and joint convenors Advocate Akram Hossain and Abdul Hakim, the committee apprised the prime minister of- various • organisational matters of the district.

Convening Committee members S S Halder, Minister of State for Jute A K Faezul Haq, Mahrnuda Shaukat, MP. former BCL general secretary Ishaque Ali Khan Panna, Kazi Ruhia Begum Hasi, Adv Salam Talukder, former minister Motiur Rahman. Major (retd) Ziauddin, Pirojpur Municipality Chairman Mohammad Liaqat Ali Sheikh Badsha were, among others, present.

Meanwhile, noted social worker and leading businessman and Pirojpur District Bus and Mini-bus owners Association president Jashimuddin Khan joined Awami League at the meeting being imbued with the ideology of the party and dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,

Sheikh Hasina, who is also the President of Awami League called upon the members of the new convening committee to establish the organisation on firm footing. She urged them to organise the party at the grassroots level.
