Inter Milan's Francesco Moriero claimed on Wednesday as sparks began to fly before this weekend's Serie A clash reports AFP.

The two sides meet on Sunday night for the first match between two of the seven title candidates this season, and the war of nerves opened up with Moriero drawing first blood for Inter.

Moriero. who spent three unhappy seasons with Roma from 1994-97. blamed the fans and the pressure-cooker atmosphere which surrounds football in the Italian capital, helped by a barrage of local TV and radio coverage.

"Three years have gone by

since I was at Roma and all I have left is memories -- and they're not even happy ones at that." said the winger, who blossomed at Inter in their 1998 UEFA Cup winning season.

'Things are very different at Inter in every respect. At Roma, I had nothing but problems: every year you started with the aim of winning something and at the end of every season, you were left with practically nothing.

"Here you can work better. I've already achieved something and there are other things that I’m still aiming for. You only have to look at the difference in the pressure to realise the differences.

'There, you have the press, the fans arid all the rest. They never give you the chance to really win anything.

"It’s true that in my three years there, I never won any-

thing with them -- but then, they've not won anything for a lifetime."

He didn't rate Capello's chances, despite the respect due to a coach who won four league titles and the European Cup in five seasons with AC Milan.

"Will they give Capello the time he needs to build a team and more importantly to succeed in something?" he asked. 'There's no doubting his ability, but the scene in Rome hasn't changed."

Moriero also pointed to Roma's decision to sell central midfielder Luigi Di Biagio, one of Italy's best players at the World Cup. to Inter two weeks ago.

"When a club decides to sell a player like Di Biagio, what more can I say?", he added.

The showdown at the Olympic stadium is likely to be a sell-out,
