NIKRAIL (BHUAPUR), Tangail. Aug 8: A long-cherished dream of getting power connection by 168 clients of remote Nikrail village and bazaar came into being on Saturday, reports BSS.

Mymensingh Palli Biddut Samity (PBS)-l of the Rural Electrification Board (REB) has spent Taka 12,50,000 for construction of transmission line for giving the connections to its new customers at Nikrail. 25 kilometres off Tangail.

Inaugurating the electrification programme as the chief guest. Advisor to the Prime Minister on the Ministry of Establishment Khondkar Asaduz-zaman. MP. said the people of Nikrail will get a new lease of life from Saturday with manifold use of electricity.

Asaduzzaman, who is also Advisor to the Prime Minister on organisations for the freedom fighters and elected MP from the area, said it was a great occasion for him as he could fulfill one of his election pledges.

Chairman of REB Brig MA Malek, speaking on the occasion as the special guest, sought cooperation of the new customers and people in general to help make the board economically more viable by paying their bills in time and stopping pilferage.

Presided over by Chairman of the Mymensingh Samity Board Giasuddin Ahmed, the function was also addressed by local elite and General Manager of Mymensingh PBS-1 Amzad Hossain.

Member (PBS) Towhidul Islam and Member (Engineering) of the REB Abdus Samad were present.
