CHITTAGONG. Sept 8: Classes of the Chittagong University (CU) are likely to resume by mid-September.

' The student organisations and the Liaison Committee through series of meetings have reached a consensus to reopen the university by September 16, chairman of the committee and Dean of the Arts Faculty Dr Imran Hossain told BSS in an interview.

The four-member Liaison Committee formed by the University to pave the way for immediate reopening of the university completed meetings with different student organisations on Tuesday.

The committee will submit its report with some recommendations to the Syndicate by next two days and the Syndicate will fix the date to reopen the university.

The Syndicate of .Chittagong University was compelled to close down the classes and ask the students to vacate the dormitories on August 14 last following an untoward incident on the campus between two rival groups of a student organisation on August 13.
