Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) leaders yesterday announced that they will bring out a procession and hold a rally on the campus today in protest of Home Minister Nasim's recent remarks at the Parliament regarding High Court and to demand cancellation of the draft. Public Security Act'99, which they termed a'black act'.

JCD also threatened to launch a massive movement throughout the country to 'unseat' the government if it does not stop 'repression' on the opposition and if the arrested were not released immediately.

The leaders said this at a procession they brought out on the Dhaka University campus in protest of recent attack on Daily Janakantha office and arrest of BNP leader Anwar Zahid. They also held a rally at the Aperajeo Bangla on the campus at noon.

Addressing the rally JCD leaders blamed Awami League and its wing Jubo League for the attack on the Janakantha office and said, "it was a part of their blueprint of conspiracy to tarnish image of opposition to the countrymen."

Presiding over the rally JCD president Habib-un-Nabi Sohel said, "ruling Awami League is trying to curb the opposition's democratic movement by repression and arresting our leaders and activists in a undemocratic process."

They also accused the government of conspiring to sell

out the country to India in the name of transhipment and said, "we will rather die than allow India to use corridor through our country.”

They also urged the student community to be united to root out 'terrorists' and 'drug traders' from different residential halls and the university campus.

They demanded immediate release of all arrested leaders and activists including BNP leader Anwar Zahid and its DU unit general secretary Mostafizul Islam Mamun.
