Dhaka University students formed a human chain in front of the Arts Building yesterday to express solidarity with Ja-hangirnagar University students who are demanding exemplary punishment to the accused rapists and terrorists.

Different students organisations joined the programme, which included BNP-backed Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCDJ, CPB-backed Bangladesh Chhatra Union (BCU). Bangladesh Chhatra Federation (BCF). Samajtantrik Chhatra Front (SCF), Chhatra Oikkya Forum (COF), Biplabi Chhatra Moitry (BCM). Suchana Addhayan Chakra (SAC). Pahari Chhatra Parishad (PCP) and Nari Pro-gati (NP).

Speaking to participants, representatives from the organisations demanded immediate expulsion of the terrorists and the rapists from JU. who recently attacked and captured some of residential halls ousting another group, accused of killing Ananda Gosh.

Meanwhile, in separate statements, the DU student groups alleged that some "identified terrorists" threatened BCF leader Taslima Akhter and Iftekher Ayub during the programme.
