The launching ceremony of the 'annual report, 1998’ of the Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh was held at the Financial Management Academy in the city, says a press release.

SM Akram, MP and chairman, Public Accounts Committee: M Hafizuddin Khan. Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh: David E Lockwood, Resident Representative. UNDP: Dr Akbar Ali Khan. Finance Secretary: Syed Sajedul Karim. ‘Controller General Defence Finance and other senior government officials attended the function.

The report highlights the activities of the Comptroller and Auditor General, and focuses on major audit findings relating to different ministries, departments and other offices of the government for the corresponding period.

The speakers lauded the publication of the Auditor General’s Annual Report as a unique effort and appreciated the role of the Auditor General in promoting and enhancing the accountability and transparency of the financial and administrative management of the government.
