The foundation stone of a Liberation War Museum — THE HALL OF FAME — was laid at the Dhaka Cantonment yesterday. according to an ISPR press release, says BSS.

Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Muhammad Mustafizur Rahman. Bir Bikram laid the foundation stone of the museum at a simple ceremony at the Dhaka Cantonment this morning.

The former Signal Officers' Mess where the trial of the Agartala conspiracy case started in 1968 would be converted into the museum.

In his short speech on the occasion, the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Muhammad Mustafizur Rahman, Bir Bikram said that the museum would inspire the future generations about the Liberation War and the struggles behind it.

The small building where Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had been kept confined during the Agartala conspiracy case was turned into the Bangabandhu Museum (commemorating the Agartala conspiracy case). Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated it last year.

On the other hand, the building where the trial of the case started will now be converted into the proposed museum. The trial court and other exhibits related to the case as well as those related to the liberation war as a whole will be preserved in the museum. A wide corridor will join the two museums for visitors.
