Leaders of Dhaka Metropolitan (South) Jubo League along with central Awami League leaders yesterday blasted deputy leader of the opposition in Parliament Prof. Badruddoza Chowdhury for his alleged "audacious" comments on Prophet Muhammad (SM) comparing his academic background with BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, reports BSS.

Mayor of Dhaka and president of Dhaka metropolitan unit of Bangladesh Awami League (AL) Mohammad Hanif said "Prophet Mohammad (SM) is above all comparison. The comparison of any political leader with the Prophet (SM) is tantamount to his defamation."

The mayor was addressing a discussion titled "B. Chy is trying to destroy religion by comparing Prophet (SM) with Khaleda Zia." organised by Dhaka metropolitan (south) unit of Jubo League at its central office at Bangabandhu Avenue here.

general secretary advocate Kazi Iqbal Hossain, among others, addressed the discussion. Mofazzel Hussain Chowdhury Maya said the Prophet-loving Bengalis would never tolerate such audacity.

Urging spontaneous resistance on such issues, the state minister said, "unfortunately the so called Islamic political parties, including anti-liberation forces like Jamat-e-Islami and their front organisation Chhatra Shlbir are silent on this issue because they do not follow the true path of Rasul (SM).”

Jubo League leader advocate Kazi Iqbal Hossain said B Chowdhury not only committed a sin by this utterance, but also hurt the Sentiments of the common Muslims of the country.

President of Dhaka metropolitan (south) Jubo League Abul Kashem Montu urged the religious-minded people to raise voice against such unholy remarks.

The leaders and workers of Jubo League later took part in a procession which paraded different streets of the capital and ended in front of Jatiya Press Club.
