A scientific seminar on "Tissue Banking: A challenge in the next millennium" was held at the Dhaka Shishu Hospital auditorium yesterday morning.

Prof M S Akbar MP, the governing body president of Bangladesh Institute of Child Health (BICH) chaired the session while Prof Manzoor Hussain. the Director of Dhaka Shishu Hospital, gave introductory speech and Dr A R Khan, an Associated Professor of BICH. read out the key note paper.

Later. Prof Quazi Quamruz-zaman. Prof A F M Ruhul Haque and Dr Sirajul Islam took part in the discussion.

The speakers emphasised that the Tissue Bank plays an important role in orthopaedic, plastic and dental surgery and the treatment of burns.

The seminar was jointly organized by BICH. Dhaka Shishu Hospital and Beximco Pharmaceuticals.
