NARAYANGANJ. May 4: Al least 50 people were injured in a fresh clash between two rival groups of workers in Adamjee Jute Mills area this morning.

Fifteen people were injured in a clash between the same rivals yesterday.

According to witnesses, the clash ensued when the ruling party backed labour group led by Rehan again tried to rehabilitate some of their ousted leaders and activists in Kadamtali and New Colony ar-

Rehan group members went there in accordance with an agreement between the two feuding groups that Ruhul Amin group would allow Rehan's men

to enter the disputed Kadamtali and New Colony area. The accord was signed in presence of leaders of the five labour organisations.

Police and witnesses said both the groups hurled several hundred hand bombs and fired gun shots during the two hourlong clash, which began at about 9:00 this morning.

Of the injured. 10 received bullet wounds. They were identified as: Jasim. 20. Sohel. 18. Faiaz Member. 42. Akbar Hossain. 22. Shakhwat Hossain. 20, Shaheed. 23. Bashir. 15. Ershad. 18. Mamun. 20, and Fatema. 25.

Seriously injured Jasim and Sohel were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

Traffic movement on the Dhaka-Demra Road was disrupted for about three hours till 12 noon due to the clash.

It is alleged that police remained idle during the clash. However, they arrested four persons from the spot. The arrested are Swapon. Rana. Hal-imoy Biswas and Swapon.

Tension has been prevailing in Sonamiah Math gate. Natun Bazar, South Uttarpara and, Madhapara areas. '
