BARISAL. Apr 3 : Manifold problems have gripped 380 primary schools in Barguna district.

About 10 thousand primary students in 38 unions of the district are being deprived of proper education from these schools. Among the problems, shortage of logistics, qualified teachers and negligence of working teachers are worth mentioning.

The local District Education Office says, there are 380 primary schools, of which 318 are registered and 35unregistered.

The teacher-student ratio is not proportionate to the requirement.

Most of the teachers are not dutiful. There is none to complain to the higher authorities about their negligence of duties.

They prefer private tuition to teacn in schools, it is widely alleged.
