NATORE. Febl: The agricultural loan disbursement programme here is progressing at snail's pace.

About Taka 25 lakh of agriloan have been distributed so far among only 750 'burga' farmers in six thanas during the current 'Boro' season. However, a large number of farmers could not be included under the programme because of stringent conditions imposed by some bank officials.

Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank disbursed Taka 21 lakh among 700 'burga' farmers

while Taka. 2.5 lakh was distributed among 23 farmers by Janata Bank and Taka Two lakh among 27 farmers by Agrani Bank. Sonali Bank .is yet to Start their agricultural loan disbusement programme.

■ Meanwhile. Bangladesh Bank ordered six banks to provide loans to small, marginal and 'burga' farmers without any security under the postflood agricultural rehabilitation programme. But the local bank officials could not restrain from their usual restrictions of security.
