Repolling for the post of President of the National Press Club will be held as the two candidates tied in the election held on Wednesday, reports UNB.

Khondoker Munirul Alam and Shafiqur Rahman bagged 240 votes each.

However, the date of repolling was not announced.

Shapan Shaha of BSS has been elected General Secretary with a margin of 22 voles over his rival Kamrul Islam Chowdhury of the same organisation.

The other office-bearers elected are: Senior Vice — president Badiul Alam (Financial Express). Vice-President — Farid Hossain (AP). Joint Secretaries- Abdur Rahman Khan-(Independent) and Bakhtiar Rana (UNB) and Treasurer — Abdul Baten (Ittefaq).

Members of the Managing Committee elected are: Ka-maluddin Sabuj (BSS). Golam Sarwar (Ittefaq). Zahiduzzaman Farooq (Ittefaq), Parveen Sultana (Janakantha). Safiqul Karim Sabu (BSS), Kazi Rownak Hossain (direct), Sehabuddin Ahmed Nafa (Daily Star). Ziaul Huq (Ittefaq). Shamsul Huq Zahid (Dhaka Courier) and Ahdal Ahmed (Dinkal).

A total of 491 voters out of 504 cast their votes.
