An ageless gesture

RANCHI: An 80-year-old and still going strong tied the knot with a woman 30 years his junior recently, reports PTI.

Anil Dasgupta, a freedom fighter and a lawyer, married for the second time after the demise of his first wife with the consent of his 44-year-old son, agovernment employee.

The octogenarian told PTI at his home here that he was prompted with the desire to help the woman living in penury. Her ability tossing folk songs was the other attraction.

"My legal profession is not just a means of livelihood for me — my principal objective is to help the poor litigants," he said.

The bride. Mita Dasgupta, is a divorcee and mother of a 28-Ktar-old son. Her penury had forced her to live in her brother's ouse working like a maid in return for the shelter.

Woman's remains found inside Holy Roman Emperor's tomb

PALERMO. Italy: The remains of an unknown woman have been found in the tomb of Holy Roman Emperor Frederick II. scientists trying to determine whether he was murdered or died of illness said, reports AFP.

"It really appears that in the sarcophagus there are the remains of a woman." Nicola Cristaldi, the head of the scientific team examining the tomb, said Thursday. 'This intrigues us a great deal, and we would like to know who she was."

"If it is proved to be a woman research will focus on the princesses of that period, because sharing the tomb of someone who was known as 'Stupor Mundi' (wonder of the world) would have been a great honour which few women could have shared at the time." Cristaldi said.

Apart from the mummified body of Frederick, who died in 1250, the tomb was thought to contain the remains of two descendants. both sons of Frederick III, who died a century later.

The tomb in Palermo cathedral was opened on November 2. Investigators want to know whether Frederick's death at the age of 56 was the result of illness, or whether he was killed on the orders of the pope with whom he had quarrelled.
