JOHANNESBURG. Nov 10 (Reuters/ Internet): Former captain Conrad Hunte Is set to become the West Indies team psychiatrist during their tour of South Africa.

Hunte revealed on Tuesday that the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) had looked favourably on his proposal to help the team with mental preparation..

"I made a proposition to the board and I understand that they have agreed with it, although I'm still awaiting final confirmation." Hunte told the news agency.

Hunte made the proposal before the pay dispute between players and the WICB erupted last week. "I think now it will be even more important for me to do this job." Hunte said.

Hunte, who has just finished a seven-year contract as head coach for the United Cricket Board of South Africa's development project, described the position as a "consultant with the team on mental and psychological preparation".
