BANGKOK. Oct 9: Tickets for the 13th Asian Games in Thailand in December will go on sale across the region next week, organisers said Friday, renorts AFP.

Around 14,700 tickets of the total of 77,000 have so far been sold in Thailand for ceremonies at the start and end of the Games and tickets for other events go on sale at the end of the month, organisers said.

The December 6-20 Games will feature 38 sports and all 43 Olympic Committee of Asia member countries but there are fears the region's economic crisis could ovrershadow the event — some nations have already cut the size of their teams.

Ticket prices range from a quarter of dollar to 20 dollars and go on sale on October 15.

More expensive smartcard passes for the opening and closing ceremonies, which allow spectators to pay taxi fares and for food and phone calls, will also be available.
