Sonali Bank posted their fifth win in the Green Delta First Division hockey league when they defeated Cantonian Sporting Club 3-1 at the Moulana Bhasani Stadium yesterday.

The winners led the first half 2-0.

Kamrul, Tito and Monir struck once each for the bankers while Rajib pulled one back for the Cantonians .

Sonali Bank, with the win, remained third in the eightteam table having raised their tally to 19 points, one point adrift of second placed Wari Club.

The day's other match between Bangladesh Railway and Bachelors' Club was postponed after 49 minutes due to poor light conditions. Until then Railway were leading by 3-0.

The remaining 21 minutes of the match will be played this afternoon as there are no scheduled matches today.

Meanwhile. Indian hockey umpire Venugopal arrived in the capital yesterday to conduct the remaining matches of the league. Venugopal will also conduct matches of the forthcoming Premier Division league along with compatriot Harkirat Singh Shakhi who is expected to arrive soon.
