HARARE, Oct 9 (Reuters/AP): Zimbabwe, 59 runs behind India on first innings, were 219 for two in their second innings at the close on the third day of the one-off Test at Harare Sports Club today.

Earlier, Zimbabwe fast bowlers Heath Streak. Henry Olonga and Mpumulelo Mbangwa combined to take four wickets.

Beginning the day on 248-6 in reply to Zimbabwe’s fragile 221 India seemed likely to build a big first innings lead.

Rahul Dravid, on 104 overnight, looked in fine fettle and well set to extend his century to be a big personal score.

But partner Robin Singh, beginning on nine, was trapped lbw to Olonga for 15. Ajit Agarkar and Javagal Srinath both underlined once more the weakness of the tail by falling victim to Streak.

Dravid, suddenly left with last man Harbhajan Singh, decided to lash out and was brilliantly caught in the covers by Neil Johnson off Mbangwa for 11&

Just two balls after the midmorning drinks break India were all out adding only 32 runs to their opening score. When they might well have expected a first innings lead of well over 100. it turned out to be 59.***

HARARE. Oct 9 (AFP/PT1): Indian batsman Rahul Dravid took a century off Zim-babwe on the second day of a one-off cricket Test here on Thursday to help India to 248 for six at the close.

Dravid's 104 was the second

Dravid was happy over India's batting rate: "242 runs from a day's play is not slow scoring in a Test match. These are early periods of consolidation and we are looking to make as many runs as possible in the first innings.”

The Karnataka batsman said the pitch was a sporting one and offered something to the bowlers all through. It had a bit of bounce but strokeplay was not difficult.
