RAWALPINDI. Oct 9: Pakistan named a 14-member squad for the second Test against Australia to be played at Peshawar beginning Oct 15. reports AP.

Paceman Waqar Younis, batsmen Muhammad Wasim, all-rounder Muhammad Hussain and medium fast Aquib Javed have been dropped from the 15-member team which was crushed by an innings and 99 runs in the opening Test at Rawalpindi.

Off-spinner Saqlain Mushtaq has gone to England to be with his ailing father and is not available for the Peshawar Test.

The selectors have recalled two young paceman Shoaib Akhtar and Muhammad Zahid to strengthen the fast bowling department. Zahid took 14 wickets in his debut Test against New Zealand in 1996 home series but has been struggling with back problem.

"He has recovered fully and it's a good sign that he is showing to regain his rhythm," chief selector Wasim Bari said.

The team also Includes allrounder Shahid Afridi and off-spinner Arshad Khan.
