RAJSHAH 1.Oct 9: The new Rajsliahi University committee of Bangladesh Chhatra League-(BCL) will he declared soon.The new committee will be formed before the central council which is scheduled to be held in Dhaka on October 22.

The students leaders of the university are now engaged in lobbying with the central and Influential leaders of BCL and local Awami League leaders.

Such an incumbent student leader told this correspondent on Wednesday requesting anonymity that the committee might be declared on October 20.

The council of BCL RU unit took place on Novernber27. but the committee could not be formed because of feuds and disagreements among the student leaders. Some student leaders also blamed the local Awami League leadership for the impasse.Earlier, a large number of student leaders and activists of BCL arranged a press conference at the RU press Club demanding a democratically electee! committee choosen by presidents and secretaries of the hall units.They also criticised the local leaders and threatened en masse resignation if their demands were not fulfilled.

Responding to their call, the BCL central committee sent a high powered team to break the deadlock and present a consensus committee, but they failed to produce any tangible result. Frequent incidents of violence took place among the feuding groups in the campus.

It is mentionable, there are three rival groups of BCL on the campus.These are: "Pintu group". "Shafique group" and “Rubon group".All the group leaders are running for presidency of the committee.Again, there are two secretary candidates. They are :Sazal Kirtania and Syed All Ziru.
