ANKARA. Oct 9: The Iranian foreign minister met with his Turkish counterpart in Ankara Friday in a bid to seek a peaceful resolution to a mounting crisis between Turkey and Syria over Kurdish rebels, reports AP.

Turkeys parliament on Wednesday issued an ultimatum to Syria, demanding that it expel Turkish Kurdish rebels from its territory or "face the consequences." Turkish reports suggested pinpoint air strikes on suspected rebel bases in the Syrian controlled-Bekaa Valley of Lebanon were possible.

Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi’s visit came a day after he discussed the issue with Syrian president Hafez Assad in Damascus.
