HONG KONG. Aug 7:China will Impose strict drug tests on athletes ahead of the Asian Games in Bangkok to avoid more doping scandals, a top Chinese Olympic Committee (COC) official said, reports AFP.

COC vice president Wei Jlzhon said China did not want more "embarrassing" incidents like the drug failures at the World Swimming Championships in Australia in January. the South China Morning Post reported today.

Four Chinese swimmers were banned for two years for using steroid-masking agent at the World Championships in Perth. A fifth swimmer and her coach were banned after trying to smuggle human growth hormones into Australia.
