GUWAHAT1. Aug 7: The flood situation in Assam was still grave as the rivers after receding in the last couple of days started to rise again threatening to engulf vast areas of human habitation and cropland, reports PTI.

Official reports reaching here said that in the worst-hit Nalbnari district in lower Assam and Dhemaji in upper Assam the situation remained critical as the rivers had started again to rise.

In Dhemaji district, rail and road communication in several areas continued to remain disrupted as about 30 relief camps were opened by the district authorities.

The situation in other districts, however showed sings of Improvement following cessation of rain.
