The newly-appointed Ambassador of the Philippines. Candida R Gutoc. made a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her office yesterday. reports BSS.

Gutoc said he would endeavour to further consolidate the existing friendship between the two countries. The envoy hailed the Chittagong Hill Tracts peace accord.

Welcoming the ambassador, the Prime Minister said the friendship between Bangladesh and the Philippines is very strong. She hailed the peace accord signed between the Philippine government and the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF).
