Roop Mia. a 30-year-old rickshawpuller. will be among over 4 lakh viewers of the boxoffice hit 'Titanic" as a reward for his honesty, reports UNB.

Mia. who has an ideal family with a son and a daughter, was rewarded Tk 200 and a free ticket for a Titanic' show yesterday by Modhumlta Theatre, after he returned a diary containing cash and documents belonging to the manager of the theatre.

“After the passenger got off at the Azimpur graveyard. 1 noticed the diary on the footboard of my rickshaw," said an excited and proud Mia after he was given recognition for his honesty by Ifthekharuddln Naushad, one of the owners of Modhumlta Theatre.

"I asked somebody to help me locate the owner of the diary and telephoned a number written on the front page and came to know the shaheoa was working for Modhumlta cinema. 1 rushed there immediately thinking he must be worried after losing the important diary." said Mia, who hails from Keraniganj.

Naushad said, "such honesty is rare now... there are still | some good people left and they should be given some recognition."

Meanwhile. Modhumlta officials said they have sold more than 205.000 tickets in the last six weeks and were confident an equal number of people would view the great romantic movie 'Titanic' in the next six weeks.

The big budget. Oscar-winning movie is also running simultaneously in Chittagong. Khulna. Mymensingh and most other major towns of the country. meaning several hundred thousand people have viewed it.

"Such rush for an English movie Is unprecedented in our country and it is surely an historic milestone In Bangladesh's cinema history." said Ifthekharuddln Naushad.

Titanic’ has been on top of the charts for weeks in America and Europe.
