LONDON. Apr 3: Fast bowler Allan Donald has become the first South African since 1970 to top the rankings for Test cricketers, reports AP.

Donald, who took five wickets as South Africa beat Sri Lanka on Monday in the second Test of the series, overtook Curtly Ambrose at the top of the Cooper and Lybrand ratings.

There was also a change at the top of the batsmen's ratings, with India's Sachin Tendulkar taking the No 1 spot from Australia's Steve Waugh.
