Following publication of a report in the March 29 issue of The Daily Star on the front page, headlined 'National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) may face crisis of life saving drugs', the government and NICVD have taken measures to procure additional stock of life-saving drugs in fij-ture through the central medical stores depot (CMSD).

In a letter addressed to the concerned reporter recently the NICVD authority mentioned that there is stock of life-saving drugs in the hospital and there is no need for any concern by the patients.'

At least 17 different injections. used during heart surgeries. are to be procured for smooth supply among the patients. the letter said.
