JHENIDAH. Mar 2: Father and son were awarded 10 years rigorous imprisonment (RI) for giving shelter to miscreants who possessed arms.

The Judgement was given by the Additional District and Sessions Judge-2 of Jhenidah. according to court sources.

The case in brief is. on a tip-off police raided the house of Khorshed Molla at village Ka-manna under Sailkupa thana on May 19 in 1995. Some armed miscreants were reportedly staying there. But the miscreants fled the scene sensing police presence. Police then arrested the houseowner Khorshed Mollah, 80. and his son Shomser Mollah.

A case was recorded win Sailkupa thana against five persons in this connected. Three other accused persons were released as no charge was brought against them. They were Suknal, Ranjit and Reaz.
