BENAPOLE. Mar 2: People of the southern districts are passing their days in extreme insecurity following the alarming deterioration of law and order situation, reports UNB.

The people are at the mercy of armed hoodlums particularly the underground activists who have created a reign of terror in the region since long. In broad day light also they often swoop on the houses and kill the innocent people indiscriminately and loot their belongings.

According to an unofficial estimation. 52 people were killed only in the month of last January by them.

Of the total. 16 murders were committed in Jhenidah. 10 in Jessore. four in Khulna, two in Bagerhat. four in Satkhira. two in Magura. two in Narai). nine in Kushtia and three in Meherpur.

Meanwhile, frequent armed clashes in day light are on in Jhenidah. Kushtia and Chuadanga districts among the under ground Inter-party and intra-party cadres since long over establishing supremacy in the region.
