KHULNA. Feb 1: Mohsin Jute Mills has been declared closed sine die from tomorrow.

The authorities issued the closure notice on January 29 amid continued violence by mill workers led by rulingparty-backed CBA leaders demanding advance money against Wages Commission

When contacted, the general manager of the mills said the workers gheraoed mills on the morning of January 26 and confined the officials in their respective office rooms demanding advance money of Tk 1000 for permanent and Tk 500 for temporary workers. They caused extensive damage to different offices of the mills.

On January 27. the workers led by CBA president and Sramik League leader Shahidullah Khan stormed into the mills and ransacked offices in presence of police, he added.

Earlier, the Jute Spinners Limited, a private jute yarn mills, was closed sine die following violence by workers demanding advance money against the new Wages Commission award.
