Bangladesh Water Development Board has removed an engineer from service and taken punitive action against five other personnel on various charges, reports BSS.

Firoz Montasher Ahmed, a sub-divisional engineer, was removed from service for his negligence of duty and misconduct sources said yesterday.

Montasher went to Bangkok on January 9. 1989 on 20-month study leave for pursuing higher education on water resources engineering' in Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), but he did not join his duty after his leave. Even he did not an-

swer the showcause notices served by the Board, the sources added.
