SYLHET. Nov 10: An eighthour hartal was observea in Sylhet at the call of the district unit of Jatlyatabadi Jubo Dal. youth front of BNP. to press for the Immediate release of ex-secretary general of JCD and central BNP leader Ilyas Alt and others.

Attendance in government and private offices was thin while all modes of vehicles stayed off the roads during the hartal hours.

Transactions In the commercial banks were totally closed.

Processions were brought out in the town and a big rally was held at the Court Point area in the afternoon with the Joint convenor of district unit of Jubo Dal Abdul Mannan in the chair. The hartal was peacefully observed at the thana headquarters of Biswanath, Go-lapganj, Beanibazar, JaklganJ, BalaganJ and Kanalghat.
