A young maid who sustained serious burns at a house in Mo-hammadpur on Sunday died at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) yesterday

Sources at the DMCH said the woman identified as Ambia, 30. was admitted to the hospital with severe burn injuries on Sunday afternoon. However, it could not be known immediately how the maid got burnt.

Ambia worked as maid for about two years at a doctor's house in Pisciculture Housing Society under Mohammadpur thana, sources said.

Mohammadpur police said they did not have any information in connection with the death of the maid till last night. Hospital sources said Ambia's body was sent to the DMCH morgue for autopsy.
