KUSHITA. Oct 9: The Syndi cate of the Islamic University at a meeting today imposed a ban on political activities on the campus for three months, according to official sources.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Kayesuddin presided over the meeting.

According to the decision taken at the meeting, no organisation will be allowed to bring out any procession, hold rally or do any other political activity at the residential halls, main gate area and on the campus from October 13 to December 18.

The authorities also cancelled holiday on Saturday, to be effective from October 18. to reduce over three-years' session jam.

Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) protested the ban on political activities on the campus saying that it would curb their democratic rights.
