BNP secretary general Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan has protested the filing of "false" cases against an unspecified number of leaders and workers of BNP and its front organisations in Sylhet. reports UNB.

Bhuiyan said police along-wlth the terrorists of Chhatra League attacked BNP supporters. leaving a good number of them seriously injured, including JCD leader Shlbbir Ahmed Khokon and Juba Dal leader Mowla. who were arrested from hospital along-wlth many others.

The BNP secretary general further alleged that the ^terrorists” of Chhatra League stabbed four JCD leaders at Thakurgaon during the hartal.

He said the Awami "terrorists" also attacked and damaged thfe BNP office at Kallhati Jn Tangail, and assaulted the party leaders Ali Asgar Taraf-dar and Ansar Ali, and damaged a vehicle of Nazrul alias Shova. another party leader.

"But the false cases are being filed against the leaders and activists of BNP and its front organisations." he said.

Mannan Bhuiyan protested the harassment on BNP's Narayanganj unit convenor Advocate Taimur Alam Khandaker by plainclothes police on Wednesday night.
