The gherao continued from 10 am to 2 pm while a rally of hatch workers was held with their union president Jabol Huq Maji in chair.

The rally was addressed, among others, by Khorshed Alam Sajan. advisor of Hatch Workers Union. Liakhat Ali Khan, Labour Secretary of City Awami League. Mahbub Mintu, Moazzem Hossain and Abdul Baten.

The coaster Hatch Workers Union threatened to lay a siege to the port office from August 11 for an indefinite period until their demand was met.
