CHAPAINAWABGANJ. July 6: Deputy Minister for Primary and Mass Education Zlnatun Nessa Talukdar said the present government is working tirelessly to change the lot of common people through distribution of national resources without discrimination, reports UNB.

She was addressing as chief guest at a workshop on Checking women and child trafficking' organised by Association for Community Development (ACD) in Binodpur High School premises on Saturday.

She said Sheikh Hasina's government is determined to free the country from illiteracy and poverty to make it economically self-reliant.

She also said it is necessary to improve the socio-economic condition of the people and coordinated efforts of government and private sector are needed to check the child and women trafficking.

The Deputy Minister also laid stress on creating consciousness among law enforcing personnel including police and Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) and common people to check the trafficking.

Prof Zlnat said the present government has formulated a proper education policy to educate children by stopping child labour to free the country from poverty and illiteracy.

She said the government is determined to make the nation economically self-reliant by providing different vocational training, loan and self-employment opportunities to youths In particular and common people in general.

Presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner of the district Abdul Aziz, the function was also addressed by principal of Binodpur College. , local union parlshad chairmen and director of ACD.

Later the Deputy Minister laid the foundation stone of the new building of Alhaj Sharif Ahmed Technical High School and College in Shibganj thana.
