PABNA. July 6: Twenty villages in Chatmohar thana were flooded due to onrush of water from three tributaries of the river Jamuna today, reports UNB.

According to officials, standing crops on about 5,000 acres ofland were submerged in last 24 hours till 6 pm today.

The water level in the Gumani river rose by 22 cm. Chiknai 14 cm and Boral by 17 cm during the period, leaving some 1000 people of Haripur, Saikula. Nimaichhara and Poilzana unions marooned.
