Speakers at a meeting Wednesday suggested utilising the services of the country's religious leaders, including Imams of the mosques, in carrying the messages to the people for women and children development, reports BSS.

The suggestion came in the advocacy and coordination meeting on "Media activities for realising the development targets for the child and woman in Bangladesh" held in the conference room of the Deputy‘Commissioner of Dhaka.

Presided over by the Deputy Director of the Divisional and District Information Office, the meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Dhaka MA Mo-barak as the chief guest while Director of the Mass Communication Directorate Mridula Bhattachariya and Civil Surgeon AKM Fazlul Haque were present as special guests.

Thana Nirbahi Officer (TNO) of Keraniganj Mohammad Zul-fikar All, Thana Health and Family Welfare Officer Mohammad Nazrul Islam and Assistant Director of Islamic Research Cell Mohammad Abbas Uddin also participated in the meeting.

The speakers said the elected representatives of rural area should be involved in the development projects of children and women. The imams of our country can play a vital role to transmit the development-oriented messages to the innocent people of the country, they said.
