JHENIDAH. May 4: Four accused were awarded 10 years rigorous imprisonment (RI) by the court in separate arms cases recently, according to court sources.

Ibrahim and Basudev both of village Shibnagar in Kaliganj thana of the district were given the punishment by the Assistant Sessions Judge of Jhenldah. Kabita Khanam. On May 18 in 1996 Kaliganj thana police arrested both the accused and recovered a country made pipegun.

In another judgement Md Saiful Islam. Additional District and Sessions Judge awarded 10 years' RI to Ma-mataz Begum alias Josna and her brother Azizul of Wirelesspara in Jhenldah sadar thana.

According to prosecution police recovered a revolver, one round of bullet and a knife from the house of Josna on August 5 tn
