NANIARCHAR (Rangamati), Mar 2: The Director General of Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) Major General Mohammad Azizur Rahman Bir Uttam Saturday said that thfe contribution and dedicatlpn of Bir Shrestha Lance Naik Shahid Mansi Abdur Rouf during the Liberation War would continue to inspire the posterity to build a prosperous Sonar Bangla' in the days to come, reports BSS.

He was speaking at a function held in connection with the 25th anniversary of the Lib-eraUon War where a monument was dedicated to Bir Shrestha Shahid Munsi Abdur Rouf, at Burighat under Naniarchar thana of Rangamati district Saturday. The Director General said, the then EPR (today's BDR) being inspired with immeasur-

able patriotism had initiated first the swoop upon the attacking force at the beginning of Liberation War.

Two of EPR (BDR) personnel were awarded gallantry award of Bir Shrestha in recognition of the heroism they showed during the Liberation War. Bir Shrestha Shahid Munsi Abdur Rouf is one of them. General Rahman said. The nation would remember all the martyrs with deep esteem.

In this regard, he also remembered with deep regards Dayal Krishna Chakma, a resident of this locality, who taking risk of his life buried the body of Bir Shrestha Munsi Abdur Rouf and later helped BDR personnel to locate the Bir Shrestha's grave.
